Movie Review For King Of Thieves showing in cinemas 2018
This is my review on movie King Of Thieves
No.34 Cinema
About:
Based on the remarkable true story from 2015 when a gang of OAP criminals pull off one of Britain’s biggest robberies, they even have time to stop for cornbeef sandwiches and a night cap.
Review:
British Gangster/Crime movies have always been a massive part to my movie collection so when I heard they was making this and it had Michael Caine and Ray Winston starring in it I was over the moon, unfortunately it didn’t have the punch I was hoping for.
It had some good moments but lacked a bit of a gritty edge I feel it needed and ended up more of a ‘One Foot In The Grave’ (TV show) meets ‘Italian Job’ when it should of been a ‘Sexy Beast’ meets ‘Snatch’.
Really interesting story with a great cast just think it was let down by a weak script and miss direction.
Verdict: Good but could of been much better.
Review: 2.5/5
End credits: Yes… immediately after the film finishes some text about the real robbery is displayed.
Fun facts:
Ray Winstone, who plays Danny Jones in the film, went to school with the real Danny Jones.
