This is my review on the horror movie Hellboy (2019)

No. 14 Cinema

About:
Dominic Henriott AND ABDUL
Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

Review:
This has been getting some negative reviews by the critics but I have no idea why, it ticks all the boxes to what a Hellboy movie should be, it’s fun, enjoyable, dark, good storyline and awesome gory action.
David Harbour as Hellboy for me is the perfect replacement from Ron Perlman he look amazing and nails the Hellboy role.
This is a much darker movie then we are used to bringing a comic book to the silver screen and more of a horror edge to it. Definitely not one for the little kids, the monsters are creepy and vicious with a poppy mouth which was great and very funny.
Go into this wanting an entertaining action packed fun movie and you will enjoy it.

Verdict:
Worth a watch

Review:
4/5

End credits:
Yes x 3 (and there awesome)

Fun facts:

Mike Mignola takes a more direct involvement in the production of this film than he did on the Guillermo del Toro Hellboy films. According to him, the idea with this one was to downplay the superhero elements in the film and stay closer to the darker tone of the graphic novels, making a much more horror-oriented entry into the franchise.
