This is my review on the horror movie Us (2019)

No. 11 Cinema

About:
A family’s serenity turns to chaos when a group of doppelgängers begins to terrorize them.

Review:
I wasn’t overly impressed with GET OUT but see the trailer for this and thought it looked really good… Man was I WRONG.
I’d go as far as saying this is the worse film I’ve ever paid to see at the cinema.
This was painful to watch to the point I just wanted it to send but it kept going on and on.
For me the first 30 minutes was far to slow and dragged out, the dialogue was shockingly poor and felt like a bad B-movie comedy.
If I was to scrape the barrel there is one good kill scene (which is over in seconds) and 3 cool music tracks but that’s it.

Verdict:
£12.50 and 1hr 56mins I’ll never get back

Review:
0.5/5

End credits:
No

Fun facts:
Like The Lost Boys (1987), several key scenes take place on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. This is even referenced in-universe, when Adelaide’s mother (Anna Diop) says, “You know, they’re shooting a movie over there by the carousel.”
